PINTAR RAPIDO 2014

PINTAR RAPIDO 2014

What a weekend! This competition is in its second year of running, the objective being to get as many artists out on the streets of London painting in the open air for a day. The challenge is to create a painting within the day, get it put into a frame and then hung in the exhibition the following day. The weather was mixed with thunder and showers but stayed dry for the painting time which was just so lucky with me using watercolour.

This year they had nearly 500 artists painting around the Borough of Chelsea on the Saturday and my legend of a dad and myself joined in the fun! It was fantastic to be with dad in the thick of an art competition, he is the man who really helped me learn to draw after all, plus he knows London so well having lived there during the blitz (bombed out of three houses and evacuated three times too!) and then gone through art school there as well.

A great experience, we both managed to finish our paintings in the time allowed and I was lucky enough to sell my painting of Sloane Square at the exhibition.
