AN AWARD AT THE BUXTON SPA PRIZE 2016!

The Buxton Spa Prize is a painting competition now in its 3rd year.
Buxton is a beautiful town in the Peak District and this was essentially a
plein air painting competition, designed to promote the area and the
restoration of the crescent.

I entered 2 paintings, along with a year's worth of work in a substantial
sketch book for a unique category that was set up specifically to
champion the importance of drawing.
This is the 'Harold Riley Sketch Book Prize',
carrying a generous £2,000 award.

I am proud to announce that my sketchbook been selected for the prize!
Ken Howard RA and Peter Brown NEAC were on the judging panel,
artists I have been inspired by for years and hold in very high regard,
along with Harold Riley himself.
Below are images of my paintings, plus a few spreads from the sketch book.
The exhibition will run at the Green man Gallery in Buxton until the 14th August,
please see their website for full details. www.buxtonspaprize.co.uk
