Windrush House is the venue for Windrush Art Courses and was the home of the late, renowned
watercolour artist James Fletcher-Watson. Josephine Neil, his daughter, runs a variety of courses
from this wonderful location and I am very proud to tutor there.

I am very proud to be a fully elected member of this painting society. The Pure Watercolour Society
is a small and informal society for painters in watercolour who enjoy using the medium in pure
transparent washes, allied to fine draftsmanship. As exemplified by the 19th century masters, such as
John Sell Cotman, Richard Parkes Bonington, David Cox, Thomas Girtin and J.M.W. Turner, and as
followed in the 20th century by, among others, Edward Seago, Edward Wesson, Leonard Squirrell,
Charles Knight and James Fletcher-Watson.

The site of one of my all time favourite artists and watercolour greats. James may no longer be with us,
but his spirit and guidance live on in his wonderful paintings. It's so important not to let the real,
pure craft of watercolour painting die out.

Valérie Pirlot is a highly talented Belgian artist now based in Bath. Working mainly in oils, she
has always been inspired by light ,which remains the main element in her paintings and her style
reveals a love for the impressionism era. She paints landscapes, portraits and still life.
Check out her superb gallery and excellent blog here.
